My argument.

'The main function of a school should be to prepare students for life, not further study.' What do you think?

The term 'School' has a diverse range of definitions and there might be various opinions to this question, however my thoughts are that school IS in fact suppossed to prepare us for life, not further study. My beliefs are based on a series of arguments I believe are true.

To begin with, school is supposed to teach us about aspects of life, which is why the first and very basic parts of it are complusory; subjects like chemistry, biology, maths and english are there to teach us the very basics of living; to teach us not to drink hydrochloic acid, not to put up your tent right next to the coast during low tide, to be able to do basic countings and to carry out basic conversations. These are essential things we need at first, only to later discover they make up the world that we live in.

Secondly, even if we all know knowledge has no limits, as we can constantly disover new things, we also know the majority of people will not be able to make a living through studying, on the contrary-- they will need to find a job and settle down, which is what most humans believe happiness to be. This can only be reached if we are taught how to apply or find our jobs, and face the situations we have to deal with in life.

Let's assume they prepare for further study-- what if there is no further study?
This immidiately leaves you thinking school to be pointless this whole time and you studied for nothing; whereas if it prepares you for life, you will be facing it directly even if you are done and there is nothing to study.
Schools were established in order for people to share their knowledge of the world and of life and warning people of the different flaws and dangers; this helps giving everyone the equal opportunity for living it. This further proves schools should be preparing us for life, and not further studies.
Whether or not a school DOES prepare us for life is a different question, but whether it should-- I believe so.

To conclude with, I believe a schools main function ought to be preparing it's students for what awaits ahead of them in the world and life as the complicated proccess it is as further studies are no more than a subset of it.

People who love food and other people.

Have you ever realised how there is this bunch of people who just eat food and they are like 'meh'?
When I eat delicious food, I feel every bit of it. You have to say things like
'This is amazing.' or 'Sweet nectar of gods' or the commonly used phrase 'mmmmm' not just ignore the whole being of it.

Everytime I see people like these I feel like going up to them and telling them 'WHY?! Why can you not see the amazing load dropped to us by the kitchen?! FEEL IT NOW! NOW!' but then I realize that would seem a bit bizarre to some, so I keep it to myself.

Therefore, if you are one of the (honestly weird) people who just eat food and not enjoy it, think again:
Are you going to let this opportunity slip without enjoying it to bits? Without feeling every fibre of it?
Think guys. Think.

Article Response :"Debate on Gun control"

The debates about gun control seem to be growing each passing day as there are more and more accidents linked to it. These accidents leave us with a couple of main questions:
"Is it the fault of these lose rules that these accidents are becoming almost common?" and
"Should guns be illegal in households?"

The article in:http://www.policymic.com/articles/35123/gun-control-debate-will-you-preserve-your-right-to-bear-arms deals with this issue.

They suggest "many have realized that government is becoming too big and too powerful" because they seem to think the government is "after another one of your rights; your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms." These lines suggest the writer is not necessarily the most government-loving person and it also gives away the fact he is HIGHLY against making changes in the gun laws.

Later on, he points out how the democrats are trying to pass on a "common sense" gun legislation and how even if they have the House of Senate and the White house, the Republicans have gotten control of House of Representatives hinting is a republican.

At the end of the article, it is said "The gun debate is not over, nor is it new, in the United States. We should think about the principles that our country was founded on before we give up our liberty." which proves this article in a way is very emotionally driven and might not be the most objective, as bearing a gun (as most people would think) is not one of "fundamental rights" nor is it "our liberty."

Through these points we can see this article might be biased as it seems to be very anti-Democrat, thus some might suspect not very trustworthy or rational.
